In May 2021, China's consumer prices rose by 1.3 percent year on year.The increase was 1.4 percent in urban areas and 1.1 percent in rural areas.Food prices rose 0.3 per cent, while non-food prices rose 1.6 per cent.Consumer prices rose 1.6 percent, while prices for services rose 0.9 percent.On average, consumer prices rose by 0.4 percent in the same period last year in May.
In May, consumer prices fell 0.2 percent month-on-month.The decrease was 0.1 percent in urban areas and 0.3 percent in rural areas.Food prices fell 1.7 percent, while non-food prices rose 0.2 percent.Consumer prices fell 0.4 percent, while prices for services rose 0.2 percent.
